As per three years plan, CEP identified several problems and designed programmes and has been performing activities with four major components i.e, 1.Early Childhood Development (ECD) 2.Formal Primary Education organised by POPI, 3.Support with Registered and Community Primary school 4.Support with Orphanage.
1. Early Childhood Development (ECD): Within the CEP project, 20 ECD centres were established in adjacent with POPI organised primary schools, registered primary and Community primary schools.
To nurture the children for their physical and mental development and to prepare them for schooling with right attitudes and habits.
Total ECD centres = 20 Total teachers = 20 Total children = 665 (362 boys and 303 girls)
CEP contributes by giving teachers honorarium, by supply of children teaching-learning materials, teachers basic and monthly refreshers training, to aware the parents through parents meeting about child rights issue and to support construction and repairing of ECD centres by close supervision.
2. Formal Primary Schools (FPS) organised by POPI: One of the most important intervention of CEP is the formal primary school that organised by POPI. Under this intervention, 06 formal primary schools were established. Now 937 children are continuing their study that was enrolled in class (I - V).
Total FPS Schools = 06 Total teachers = 24 (01 male and 23 female ) Total children = 937 (469 boys and 468 girls)
Education is one of the social development indicators where enrolment of children in school, reduction of drop out and ensuring gender equality acquires the highest and top priority. In education, two important MDGs to be achieved by Bangladesh by the year 2015.

CEP contributes by giving teachers honorarium, by giving
teachers honorarium, by supply of children teaching-learning materials, teachers basic and monthly refreshers training, to aware the parents through parents meeting about child rights issue and to support construction and repairing of FPS schools by close supervision. Besides, CEP has been working to strengthening the SMC committee.
Another major objective is to hand over the schools to government through registration process. We already processed and submitted application for registration and got received 1st letter of approval from government. 3. Support to Registered and Community Primary school: CEP project is working with the 04 registered and 06 community primary schools to support them. Most of the schools suffer for insufficient teachers than need. CEP project has been appointed para-teachers in respective schools due to shortage or leave (for training or maternity leave).
Registered primary schools = 04 Community primary schools = 06 Total govt appointed teacher = 35 Total para teachers = 30 (Appointed by POPI) Total children in 10 schools = 3158 (1561 boys and 1597 girls)
CEP project also established an Early Childhood Development (ECD) centres in all supported primary schools. CEP project has given support by conducting refreshers training, by supply of teaching - learning materials and part of teacher's honorarium to improve quality of education.
4. Support to Orphanage: An Orphanage which is situated in the villege of Jamalpur in Bhairab upazilla, is providing support from CEP since 1988. 54 children in different classes are now studying. A full time house tutor, a private tutor, a caretaker and a cook is providing from the project to support the children needs. Besides, orphan children also getting others support such as education materials, playing materials, dress, dress, food etc to develop them physically as well as mentally as a resourceful citizen in the country.
